APOLITICAL

It is important to note that Flagworld manufactures flags of the world for all people. We appreciate that flags often create strong emotional responses in people and it is our wish that flags are available for all people as symbols of their origins or current associations, but as a company we do not wish to enter into the political arena. We are not politically motivated.

If you cannot find your national flag on our website, it is possible for Flagworld to make it up for you. Please forward your request and we will give it serious consideration. We ask our customers to understand that we are a commercial operation and must make decisions based on commercial viability.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS

Flagworld specializes in screen printed, dispersed dye flag manufacturing using the best knitted polyester fabrics available. This combination produces a long-lasting lightweight flag suitable for interior or exterior use (refer "Life of a Flag").

SIZE

Flags are manufactured in many sizes, suitable for the different uses for which they are intended. By far the world's most popular size is 1800mm x 900mm, approximately equivalent to 6 feet x 3 feet.

Most countries specify correct proportions for flags, the most popular being 2:1, twice as long as they are wide. However, in some communities there is a preference for different proportions.

Flagworld manufactures world flags in the most popular size: 1800mm x 900mm

COLOUR

The flags that Flagworld presents are printed in colours true to the country of origin's specifications. We use a worldwide authority to obtain these specifications. Sometimes the popular conception of the colours is slightly different to government requirements; but as flag makers of conscience, we have followed government requirements where possible.

(Colour representation on the Web should be regarded as a guide only.)

THE LIFE OF A FLAG

A flag is a measure of fabric that is raised anywhere between 6m and 60m in the air.

It can be flown to exhibit patriotism and national feeling as in the case of a national flag, it can be flown to engender community spirit as in the case of a council flag, or flown to identify and advertise as in the case of a company flag. Private individuals, associations, clubs, companies, councils and governments all fly flags for reasons too numerous to recount. But whatever the reason, a flag is a stirring sight.

Apart from the admiring eyes, flags are subjected to the elements. Ultra violet rays and high winds cause the breakdown of fibres in flags, particularly the breakdown of the sewn edges at the extremities.

Prevailing conditions will largely determine the length of the life of a flag. A flag that weathers extreme conditions will not last as long as a flag flown in temperate climates.

The life of a flag also depends upon its flying time. A flag that is flown constantly (24 hours per day) cannot last as long as a flag flown from dawn ‘til dusk. It must be recognised that the flying time of a constantly flying flag is more than doubled, thus its life is considerably reduced.

Flags can be expected to last between 6 and 9 months, however they have been known to last 2 years. They have also lasted less than 3 months on occasion, having been damaged by severe conditions, or by hitting against a roof or a wall during flying. Flags must fly freely.

To lengthen the life of your flag, ensure that it flies freely. It should not be impeded by surrounding structures. It is important that it is properly attached to the pole so that it does not wrap itself around it repeatedly. If you wish to maximise its life, bring it in each evening and in bad weather.
